Los Angeles, United States - April 03, 2025 04/03/2025 09:42 pm (GMT-0700) COMPTON, Calif. – A reported explosion occurred at approximately 9:42 p.m. near the 13500 block of South Avalon Boulevard. Witnesses reported hearing a large boom that shook the entire complex before flames and smoke were seen coming from a unit. A witness stated she called 9-1-1 upon seeing the flames and smoke. At least one man was seen receiving treatment by medical personnel at the scene. Following the explosion, a crime scene was established, and firefighters evacuated the complex as they assessed the situation to confirm there was no further danger. Per initial reports, the bomb squad was called to the scene to investigate.
