Late night fly-tippers caught dumping their trash on huge pile of rubbish in Birmingham, England
Several people travelled to Vardon Way in the Kings Norton area of Birmingham on Monday April 7 evening to fly-tip their rubbish.
People arrived in cars and on foot to dump their waste after Birmingham City Council released locations of their Mobile Household Waste Centres and this location was given for Tuesday 8th April.
Over the last few weeks huge piles of rubbish have been discovered in the morning yet until now, no one was caught in the act dumping their garbage the night before.
Fly-tipping is illegally dumped rubbish which can lead to a fine of up to £50,000 along with imprisonment if caught and brought to justice.
Some of those filmed dumping their bin bags lived opposite the mound and could not wait until the bin wagons were set to arrive at 7.45am on Tuesday morning.
One man hurled bags from his 4x4, finishing off with a huge oversized bag with a rectangle box of some kind inside.
A resident who did not want to be named said: 'It all started with about 6 bags, it was about midday when the first lot was dumped.
'I saw one driver make 4 trips with bin bags packed into his car, he must have dumped around 40 bags.
'I tried telling people not to dump their rubbish but they said the council says it's a drop off site, but that's only for when the wagon's are here and not the day before.
'I asked some drivers where they had come from, most were out of the area around 5 or 6 miles away.
'Under the pile there are lawnmowers, furniture, it's not just normal waste, it's everything.
'At one point there were so many cars they blocked the road so I called the police, they said they'd send someone round but that was 5 hours ago and no one has come.'
During filming one driver of a silver Honda Civic made three drops, two with a woman who helped and a final run on his own.
The urgency to remove the bags from vehicles and dump them was obvious to see, as they understood what they were doing was wrong. One driver even dumped his rubbish and drove off in such a hurry he did not close his pickup's boot.
A cat was spotted inspecting the bags and a woman even laughed as she hurled her bin bag onto the pile.
Labour-run Birmingham City Council declared a Major Incident on the 31st of March in an attempt to try and clear the backlog of missed bin collections as refuse workers continue their all-out strike action in the West Midlands city.
