Sniffer dog finds stray cat alive in collapsed building
This is the heartwarming moment a sniffer dog found a stray cat alive in a building in Bangkok that collapsed during the earthquake.
The German Shepherd K-9 named Naree alerted rescue teams to the ginger moggie buried under the rubble of the State Audit Office.
Footage shows the pooch barking persistently upon detecting the hapless feline in the carnage on April 6.
The kitten, later named Satong, meaning 'strong' in Thai, was said to have survived for 10 days in the ruins before she was rescued. She was taken to the Wipawadee Pet Clinic for a check-up.
Veterinarian Wipawadee Pathom-rapeepong said: 'The orange cat found by K9 Naree last night is with me. Anybody who wants to adopt her can take her free of charge. The cat will grow up strong, that's for sure.'
The 33-storey building collapsed in a 7.7 magnitude quake centred in Myanmar on March 28. More than 5,000 are believed to have died in Myanmar.
Retrieval operations were ongoing in both distressed countries, with numerous nations sending assistance and emergency responders to help with the disaster.
