US, Los Angeles: North Hollywood Vehicle Shears Hydrant Outside NOHO West Shopping Center
Los Angeles, United States - April 11, 2025 04/11/2025 10:33 pm (GMT-0700) NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A vehicle collided with a fire hydrant last night just after 10:30 p.m. at the NOHO West shopping center at 6150 Laurel Canyon Boulevard in North Hollywood. Upon arrival, Los Angeles Fire Department personnel found that the vehicle had sheared the hydrant located in front of the NOHO West sign and crashed into the "N" of the NOHO signage. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and nobody was transported to the hospital. LAFD managed to shut off the water to the hydrant approximately five minutes after their arrival, but water was gushing for about 15 to 20 minutes in total. Los Angeles Police Department Valley Traffic is investigating the cause of the crash, interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence. It is unclear at this time if speed, drugs, or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
