Police caught a drunk driver after a chase in Tampa, Florida.

Dashcam footage shows the officer responding to a wrong-way driver call on Ybor City Street on Thursday, March 27.

Suddenly, a woman's speeding car appeared, narrowly avoiding a head-on collision with the patrol car.

The officer said: 'She almost killed me. I sat there, held the steering wheel, and closed my eyes. She was flying at me.'

He then confronted the driver and noticed several signs of impairment.

The driver's Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC) registered at 0.275, nearly three times the legal limit, indicating extreme intoxication.

Authorities added: 'Every impaired driver is a danger on the road, not just to themselves, but to every family, friend, and officer out there. Help us protect our community. Never drive under the influence.'

She was arrested and charged with DUI.
