Police used a grappler tool to catch a car chase suspect in Washington.

The Thurston County Sheriff's Office used the advanced tool to end a high-speed pursuit on Delphi Road SW, about 8 miles southwest of Olympia, on November 6.

Dashcam footage released by the authorities shows the dramatic moment when a deputy approached the suspect's vehicle with the aid of a backup officer.

The suspect swerved into oncoming traffic and reached up to 100 mph speeds.

The deputy observed the suspect's car emitting smoke as the chase progressed, indicating potential engine failure.

Officers deployed the grappler - a net-like device tethered to the patrol car - effectively forcing the vehicle to stop by yanking the wheel.

The suspect's car subsequently spun out, crashing into a fence, and the driver attempted to escape on foot.

A K-9 assisted in apprehending the fleeing individual.

The driver, found in possession of a firearm and methamphetamine, now faces multiple charges.
