OH DEER! A Curious Visitor at the YMCA in Louisville, Kentucky
On Tuesday, April 8th, Louisville Metro Police Department officers responded to an unusual call at the YMCA on West Chestnut Street—a trespasser who just wouldn’t leave. Upon arrival, officers were met with a wide-eyed intruder frozen in place, giving them quite literally a "deer in the headlights" stare. It turns out the YMCA doesn’t offer memberships to deer, no matter how eager they may be to join.
Officers gently escorted the four-legged guest off the premises without incident. While it was a humorous encounter, LMPD noted a rising trend in deer sightings across urban Louisville, likely caused by historic flooding displacing wildlife from their natural habitats.
