UPPER DUBLIN TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police in Upper Dublin Township are highlighting a serious school bus safety violation after reviewing video captured by bus-mounted cameras earlier this month.

Through a partnership with Bus Patrol and the Upper Dublin School District, officers have been reviewing school bus stop-arm violations recorded since October 2025. One of the most serious incidents to date was captured at approximately 6:37 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at the intersection of North Limekiln Pike and Golden Drive.

The video shows a vehicle passing a stopped school bus while its red warning lights were flashing and the stop arm was activated. Police said the actions of the driver placed students at significant risk, noting the outcome could have been far worse than the citation the driver will receive.

Authorities credited the two students involved for exercising caution while crossing the roadway.

Police reminded motorists that state law requires drivers to stop at least 10 feet from a school bus when red lights are flashing and stop arms are extended — a rule designed to prevent serious injury or death.
