Flock Alert Leads To Safe Grappler Arrest On I-25
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — A stolen vehicle was safely stopped and a suspect taken into custody last month after Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a Flock Safety alert on Interstate 25.
According to the sheriff’s office, the alert indicated a stolen vehicle traveling northbound on I-25. Deputies quickly located the car, and a deputy equipped with a Grappler device successfully deployed the system, bringing the vehicle to a controlled stop before a pursuit began.
The driver was taken into custody without incident. Authorities said the suspect was arrested on charges including second-degree motor vehicle theft, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and driving while license revoked.
The sheriff’s office credited the rapid response and use of technology with preventing a potentially dangerous pursuit and ensuring the safety of the public and deputies.
