Dash Camera Shows Semi Struggling On Slick Iowa Highway
GRUNDY COUNTY, Iowa — The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office is reminding drivers to use caution after dash camera video showed a semi-truck struggling to maintain control on icy roadways.
Sheriff Dolleslager captured the footage while following the semi north of Grundy Center on Highway 14. The video, recorded from the sheriff’s patrol vehicle once he was in a safe location, shows the truck being pushed and blown around by slick road conditions.
Authorities said the incident highlights the dangers winter weather can create for both commercial and passenger vehicles, particularly during periods of ice and reduced traction.
The sheriff’s office encouraged motorists to slow down, increase following distance and avoid unnecessary travel when road conditions deteriorate.
