Jaipur: On the second day of his official visit to India, US Vice President JD Vance, accompanied by his wife Usha and their three children, visited the historic Amer Fort in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Vance and his family received a traditional Rajasthani welcome at the fort, which included a ceremonial greeting with a decorated elephant, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the region.
They were warmly welcomed by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, who also held a courtesy meeting with the US Vice President at the venue.
During the visit, Vance’s daughter, Meera Belle, was particularly captivated by the stunning view of the Kesar Kyari, a beautifully laid-out Mughal-style garden located below the fort, which she admired from the Diwan-e-Aam for quite some time.
Vance had arrived in Jaipur late Monday evening after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. His four-day trip includes stops in Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra, with a series of diplomatic and cultural engagements across cities.
