This is the dramatic moment a boatman rescued a drowning bear cub desperately clinging to a floating log.

Rustam Bulatov spotted the helpless baby bear struggling to stay afloat while gripping the tree trunk in the Yumaguzinskoye Reservoir, Bashkortostan, Russia.

The kindhearted man immediately steered his small boat toward the exhausted animal on April 29.

Footage shows him carefully nudging the log toward the riverbank, guiding the bruin to safety.

After reaching shallow water, the young bear scrambled ashore and disappeared into the nearby forest—presumably to reunite with its mother.

Officials said the cub had likely become separated from its parent while swimming across the reservoir.

Russia's Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology said: 'Rustam Bulatov, a resident of the village of Kutushevo in the Meleuzovsky District, happened to be crossing the reservoir in a small boat when he saw the bear and saved it. The cub did not panic or resist, as if sensing it was being helped. Fortunately, the rescue ended successfully.'
