US warships target Houthi terrorists amid rising attack threat
US warships targeted Iran-backed Houthi terrorists amid a rising threat of attacks.
Dramatic footage shows crews conducting resupply operations at sea on Friday, May 2.
Authorities confirmed that the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) and USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) carry out continuous 24/7 operations targeting Houthi forces.
President Donald Trump said that while Iran had reduced its intensity regarding military equipment and general support, the country continues to send substantial supplies to the rebels.
He added: 'Iran must stop the sending of these Supplies IMMEDIATELY. Let the Houthis fight it out themselves. Either way, they lose, but this way, they lose quickly.
'Tremendous damage has been inflicted upon the Houthi barbarians, and watch how it will get progressively worse — It's not even a fair fight, and never will be. They will be completely annihilated!'
Trump cited the group's attacks on shipping in the Red Sea as the reason for the military action. He said: 'Funded by Iran, the Houthi thugs have fired missiles at U.S. aircraft and targeted our troops and allies.
The U.S. initiated what it described as a 'decisive and powerful' wave of airstrikes on Houthi targets on Saturday, March 15. The Houthi leadership reported that the number of casualties had risen to 250.
CENTCOM stated that it initiated a series of operations, including precision strikes against Houthi targets across Yemen, to defend American interests, deter adversaries, and ensure freedom of navigation.
