Tourists tied their phone to a bamboo pole and used it as a giant selfie stick as a hack to create drone-like shots on the beach.

Footage shows the supportive friends holding together a 20ft shaft with the device to follow around their swimsuit-wearing pal in Quezon, the Philippines.

They struggled with the weight but helped each other so they could get in the frame their holidaymaker friend with the stunning view of Jomalig Island.

The camera hovered over the traveller, and the final video looked like it was taken using an aerial device.

Footage shows the bikini-clad girl walking along the shore while featuring the view of the spot.

The girls then watched the outcome of their DIY drone using bamboo under a parasol they set up beside the beach on April 17.
