Los Angeles, United States - May 09, 2025 05/08/2025 07:35 pm GMT-0700 POMONA, Calif. – Claremont police responded to reports of shots fired at a drone in the Claremont Hills. Upon arriving, officers located a vehicle believed to be connected to the incident and attempted to initiate a stop on a pickup truck. The stop led to a pursuit that lasted 30 to 45 minutes through Claremont and Pomona. During the chase, the suspect briefly stopped at the intersection of Vandergriff Lane and Tarr Place in Pomona. At that time, the suspect fired four to five rounds at Claremont officers, but no officers or patrol vehicles were struck. Following this incident, the suspect continued northbound on Towne Avenue toward the 10 Freeway and entered the freeway. The suspect crashed into the center divider, which resulted in a flat tire. Exiting the freeway at Monte Vista Avenue in Montclair, the suspect briefly re-entered the freeway before coming to a stop. Officers then took the suspect into custody. A firearm was recovered from the freeway, and multiple magazines were found inside the pickup truck. Additionally, several windows were found shot out from the pursuit incident.
