Los Angeles, United States - May 13, 2025 05/13/2025 01:19 am GMT-0700 HOLLYWOOD HILLS, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Emergency responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol Central Division were dispatched to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision on the southbound 101 Freeway between Highland Avenue and Barham Boulevard. Upon arrival, LAFD personnel discovered a pedestrian who had been struck. The impact of the collision propelled the victim into the northbound lanes, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. A white BMW was found stopped in traffic, and authorities believe it may have struck the pedestrian. Whether the driver stayed at the scene or sustained any injuries remains unclear. Near the incident site, a pillow and blanket were located on the left shoulder of the southbound lanes, which are believed to belong to the deceased. Traffic was severely impacted on the south lanes of the 101 Freeway from Lankershim to Highland; only the slow lane remained open at the time.
