Jhunjhunu Air Force Soldier Martyred in Operation Sindoor While Defending the Nation

Surendra Kumar, a brave Air Force soldier from Mehradasi village in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district, was martyred during Operation Sindoor while defending the nation. He held the rank of Medical Assistant Sergeant in the 39th Wing of the Indian Air Force and was stationed at the Udhampur Air Base in Jammu & Kashmir.

On Sunday, a contingent of the Indian Air Force brought his mortal remains to his native village. Military personnel, administrative officials, and local representatives paid their respects by laying wreaths and offering floral tributes.

An emotional moment unfolded when the martyr’s wife, Seema Devi, was allowed a final glimpse of her husband—overcome with grief, she broke down in tears. Under the command of Group Captain Vinay Bhardwaj, Air Force personnel presented a Guard of Honour in tribute to the fallen hero.

Following the ceremony, the national flag was respectfully handed over to the martyr’s children—son Daksh and daughter Vartika—by senior military officers. The last rites were performed with full state honors, with young Daksh lighting the funeral pyre, paying a final salute to his father’s sacrifice.

Surendra Kumar’s supreme sacrifice has become a moment of both pride and mourning for the entire nation.
