On May 12th, near the Hutuo River in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, three giant kites lifted a man high into the air. Suspended dozens of meters above the ground, the scene appeared quite dramatic and dangerous.

According to witnesses, the kites being flown were enormous, with a team of over ten people working together. About 20 minutes later, the man who was hanging from the kite lines landed safely.

One of the participants explained: “This is a dangerous stunt—please do not try to imitate it. The person went up sitting, not hanging. It was intentional. There’s a small island in the middle of the river, and a kite had landed in the water. We used the kites to send someone to the island to retrieve it. In the end, both the person and the kite landed safely.”
