Giant boulder crashes down mountain and narrowly misses biker before slamming into building
On May 16, a giant boulder tumbled down a mountainside in Fengshan County, Hechi, Guangxi Province.
Surveillance footage shows the massive rock rolling from the mountain and narrowly missing a man riding a bicycle on the road below — a harrowing close call.
The boulder struck the corner of a private residence, causing property damage but fortunately no injuries.
Local shopkeepers and residents suggested the incident may be linked to recent weather changes. The area had been experiencing drought, followed by heavy rainfall, which could have loosened the soil and triggered the rockfall.
Local government officials confirmed the area is classified as a geological hazard zone. Authorities are currently inspecting the region for potential dangers and implementing safety measures to protect residents.
