A beach day turned chaotic when a girl was thrown off a kayak by crashing waves while posing for pictures with her friends.

Footage shows Yanni Hernandez attempting to strike a pose in a pink one-piece swimsuit while onboard a transparent vessel near the shore in Albay, the Philippines.

Despite Yanni holding onto the sides of the boat to steady herself, a sudden tide struck, prompting the other tourists to hold her for support.

She was pushed to the sand with the watercraft that flipped over, plunging her onto the ground.

The group burst into laughter from the botched vacation photoshoot as Yanni lay on her side beside the kayak on May 18.

Yanni said: 'The crystal kayak failed us. We did not expect that the current would be too strong.'
