Beginner surfer crashes into toddler playing in sand
A beginner surfer accidentally crashed into a toddler who was building sandcastles while returning to shore.
Footage shows Yvette Salas practising her balance on a longboard but fails to notice the youngster nearby at Boracay Beach in Aklan, the Philippines.
Yvette lost control and collided with the child who was sprawled on the sand.
They cried from shock but Yvette said the kid was unharmed and soon returned to playing. She quickly apologised to the girl and her guardian.
Yvette said: ‘During my second attempt at balancing on the board, I did not notice that a child was nearby, and as seen in the video, she was accidentally hit by my board.
‘I immediately helped her up and apologised to both her and her guardian. I want to emphasise that it was never my intention to hit or hurt her.'
