Los Angeles, United States - May 25, 2025 05/25/2025 01:06 pm GMT-0700 CASTAIC, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. – A family of five, including three children, was seriously injured in a violent rollover crash on Interstate 5 in Castaic on Sunday afternoon, marking a harrowing start to the Memorial Day weekend. The crash was reported shortly after 1 p.m. on the northbound lanes of Interstate 5, just north of the Hasley Canyon Road off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, a pickup truck veered off the freeway and rolled approximately 100 feet onto the grounds of the Pitchess Detention Center. Firefighters arrived to find the mangled vehicle and worked quickly to extricate the two parents and their three children trapped inside. All five victims were transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. The parents were admitted to the emergency department, while the children were later airlifted to a specialized pediatric trauma center for further treatment.
