This is the dramatic moment police caught a thief scaling the side of a building in Thailand.

Footage shows officers surrounding the alleged robber as he sat terrified on a ledge in Sakon Nakhon, on May 22.

The cops managed to convince him to jump 15ft to the ground before bundling him into a police car.

The bungling suspect claimed he and two other men had tried to carry out a heist 'by leaping across building rooftops like Spider-Man' but were unable to climb back down due to their fear of heights.

Police Captain Sakonrat Lohasarn of the Mueang Sakon Nakhon Police Station said: 'The other two suspects were stubborn and even tried to climb to the rooftop of another building five blocks away. They were huddled on the rooftop but they decided to surrender after getting tired.

‘Fortunately, they were arrested before they could steal any valuables. We called the building owner to file a report.'

He added that the trio, identified only as Tom, Anuwat, and Sawang, will be charged with trespassing.
