This is the oddly terrifying moment a reveller became engulfed in foam at a pool party.

Holidaymaker Denise Cerdena entered the pool to experience a bubbly bash for the first time at Boracay Island in Aklan, the Philippines.

Footage shows Denise wading through a pit filled with thick bubbles and froth on June 9.

Moments later, she continued moving toward the dense foam and was briefly overwhelmed by the bubble-covered pool.

The camera appears to shake slightly as she disappears into the thick wall of foam.

She can be heard saying in the video: 'I couldn't breathe there. I swallowed water.'

Speaking after, Denise added: 'I wasn't fond of the beach that much, so I went to swim in the pool. It was my first time trying the foam party. Since this was a new experience for me, I was very excited and dove into it.

'As I was trying to get my view clear and get out, my face was covered with foam again. At that time, I tried to find a clear space so I could breathe.

'Eventually, I recovered, and honestly, I'd go back to the foam party again, but with more precaution. It was so much fun, and I'd do it all over again.'

Inhaling or being exposed to dense foam can cause respiratory irritation, disorientation, and even lung inflammation in extreme cases.
