Fincastle Crews Respond to Flooding After Severe Storms
FINCASTLE, Va. — Emergency crews are actively responding to flooding in the Grove Hill Road area following severe storms that swept through Botetourt County, the Fincastle Volunteer Fire Department reported Saturday.
Volunteers from Company 4 are working alongside the Botetourt County Fire & EMS Special Operations and Tactics Team to assess damage, assist residents, and secure flooded roadways and structures.
Authorities are urging the public to avoid flooded areas and remember the safety warning: “Turn Around, Don’t Drown.” Even a few inches of moving water can be enough to sweep a vehicle off the road.
Residents are asked to stay alert, avoid travel if possible, and allow emergency responders the space needed to operate safely.
