TIGARD, Ore. — A group of Tigard police officers came to the rescue of a neighborhood skunk Wednesday night after it got its head stuck in a jar, according to the Tigard Police Department.

Officers responded to the area of SW Pinebrook and 91st after a concerned resident called about the disoriented animal. The skunk was found bumping into objects in the dark, unable to see or escape on its own.

Fortunately, officers were able to carefully remove the jar without incident — and without getting sprayed. The freed skunk wandered safely away, and officers walked away with a lighthearted story from an otherwise quiet night on patrol.
