Woman Shouts ‘Murderer’ at Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis During Public Address

A dramatic moment unfolded during Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ speech in Thessaloniki when, just after telling his applauding supporters “I’m in good hands,” a woman in the crowd screamed back: “Murderer!”

The unexpected outburst briefly stunned the audience. Security personnel moved in almost instantly, forcibly removing the woman as she continued shouting “Murderer!”. Witnesses described the removal as aggressive, with plainclothes officers dragging her away from the gathering. Mitsotakis did not directly respond and continued with his address.

The incident underscored the deep polarization surrounding the Greek Prime Minister, whose popularity has been steadily declining following the 2023 Tempi train disaster and a series of protests over government accountability. Mitsotakis recently survived a no-confidence vote in parliament, but public frustration remains high, fueled further by controversial cabinet reshuffles and criticism over civil liberties.
