The blaze was first reported at approximately 6:09 PM and quickly grew from a quarter-acre to 2 acres in size, fueled by medium to heavy brush and wind-driven conditions. Within minutes of ignition, Incident Command reported a moderate rate of spread and increasing fire activity, prompting the request of a third alarm due to an immediate structure threat. At 6:13 PM, fire crews reported that homes were in danger within the next 1 to 2 minutes, as flames began encroaching on nearby properties. As of 6:50 PM, officials confirmed that the forward progress has been stopped.
