This is the astonishing moment a women's basketball ace towered over her opponents during a warm-up match.

Footage shows Chinese centre Zhang Ziyu, 18, dominating opponents Bosnia and Herzegovina in a practice encounter at the Asia Cup on June 13.

The 7ft 5in star stood literally head and shoulders above the other players as she scored by simply reaching up on tip toes and dunking the ball into the 10ft high hoop.

Tacklers bounced off her as she seemed to score whenever she got close to the opposing team's basket.

China trounced Bosnia 101-55 and 124-57 at a second encounter in Linyi, eastern China, on June 15, where Zhang scored 34 points and 14 rebounds in just 27 minutes over the course of both matches.

Defeated coach Emir Halimic said: 'She's the best player I have ever seen, playing a leading role in the Chinese women's team.

'Her presence dictates the game's tempo, and I look forward to her being more successful with China.'

He added: 'Even without Zhang, China is still a very strong team, and with Zhang, they're greatly reinforced.

'It's not only us. Any team in the world would be in trouble against Zhang and China. I hope she stays healthy and can bring more glory.'

China went on to crush Japan on 20th June in a further Asia Cup warm-up match, with a final score of 93-61.

They are next due to face Australia in Haikou, in southern China, on July 6.
