The Palestinian death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 57,418, with 136,261 people injured since the conflict between Hamas and Israel erupted on October 7, 2023, said Gaza's health authorities on Sunday. In the past 24 hours alone, Israeli attacks have killed at least 80 Palestinians and injured 304 others, according to the health authorities. Since Israel resumed its military operations in the enclave on March 18, following a brief ceasefire, at least 6,860 Palestinians have been killed and 24,220 others injured. The Israeli military said Sunday it has struck about 130 sites throughout Gaza over the past 24 hours. According to a statement from the military, the strikes targeted command and control structures, storage facilities, weapons, launchers, and an unspecified number of militants in Gaza City and Jabalia. The strikes came as Israel is sending a negotiating team to Qatar on Sunday for talks with Hamas on a ceasefire-hostages deal. On Friday, Hamas said it had delivered a "positive" response to mediators over a Gaza ceasefire proposal, adding it is "seriously prepared to immediately enter into a round of negotiations on the mechanism for implementing this framework."
