A recently released video captures an Amazon semi-truck losing control on wet roads and narrowly escaping a plunge into the Iowa River.

The incident took place just before 6:15 a.m. on Riverside Drive as the semi hydroplaned on standing water while rounding a curve. The truck swerved left, crossed an intersection, and ended up on the riverbank near a local park.

The semi stopped just in time before tipping into the river, its trailer blocking a sidewalk leading to the Iowa Memorial Union footbridge.

This event occurred only three days after a separate accident in which an 18-year-old woman drove her 2009 Chevy Malibu into the Iowa River near the Iowa Avenue Bridge early Sunday morning. She was charged with operating while intoxicated.

No details have been shared about the Amazon truck driver involved.
