Aggressive pet tarantula leaps up to grab a cockroach
This is the nerve-wracking moment an aggressive pet tarantula leapt up to grab a cockroach.
Bulvej-Finn Lehnert was attempting to feed his Philippine Earth Tiger Tarantula when it suddenly jumped at him in Manila, the Philippines.
Footage shows the owner dropping the bug into the small enclosure on July 7.
The spider immediately vaulted toward his finger briefly before landing back on the soil.
Startled, the youngster flinched and wiggled his finger to remove the arachnid, accidentally throwing the cockroach in the process.
The insect can then be seen hiding behind the synthetic violet plants placed in the corner.
Finn said: 'I was scared to give the cockroach at first, and when I handed it over, it jumped at me instead of taking its snack.'
The Philippine Earth Tiger Tarantula is a fast-moving, defensive species native to the Philippines, known for its medium to large size. While its venom is mild and not dangerous to humans, its bite can be painful and should be treated with caution.
