Woman screams as she fights off attacker outside shop in Florida
This is the shocking moment a woman screams as she fights off an attacker outside a shop in Florida.
Police responded to an incident at 1054 SR 206 East in St. Augustine on June 29, after a 911 call reported a man attempting to force a woman into a vehicle in a car park.
Deputies later determined that the suspect had robbed a business before violently pulling a female employee from the store.
He allegedly dragged her outside and tried to push her into a pickup truck.
The woman resisted, drawing the attention of a bystander who intervened and contacted the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.
Security footage shows the victim being dragged towards a pickup before managing to escape and run to safety as the video ends.
The suspect fled the scene, abandoning the kidnapping attempt.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officers later spotted the suspect driving erratically near Marineland on A1A. He attempted to flee but was eventually taken into custody.
Theodore Michael Tundidor, 31, was charged with kidnapping, robbery, and grand theft auto by SJSO detectives. FWC filed additional charges for DUI and fleeing and eluding law enforcement.
Authorities said: 'The victim in this situation did everything right – scream or yell, fight, attract attention.'
In response to the incident, instructors from SJSO's Women Against Violent Encounters (WAVE) programme offered safety advice, stressing the importance of awareness, trusting instincts, and mental preparation.
WAVE is an initiative led by female law enforcement officers to educate women on threat recognition and basic self-defence techniques.
