A woman has spent £12,000 on her Jellycat collection - and has dedicated her spare room to display 425 of the soft plush toys.

Issie Fitzgerald, 25, began collecting the popular plushies in 2021 after first purchasing the fuddlewuddle dragon toy for £27.

Now, after moving from her flat where she kept most of her items in dust bags and cupboards, she plans to use the spare room of her new home to create a huge Jellycat display.

Including ‘retired' Jellycats – that are no longer sold – Issie reckons her army of plushies are worth around £14,000 and has plans to keep them and pass down to her future children.

Issie, a content creator from the Isle of Wight, said: "I've always loved collecting stuff since I was younger and when I started collecting them it brought me back to when I was younger."

"It's something that makes me really happy."

"All I get for my birthday and Christmas is Jellycats."

"I won't be selling them anytime soon."

"I like the idea of passing them on to my kids too as the value just goes up."

"My rarest ones are definitely some of my bashful bunnies."

"The sherbet bunny goes for £300 plus now, the value is always changing"."

Issie began collecting Jellycats back in 2021.

She said: "I would always hear people talk about them online, that was four years ago now."

"I ended up getting my first one, I actually ordered it on John Lewis."

"It was the fuddlewuddle Dragon for £27."

"My now husband, Oscar, 26, started buying me ones here and there for birthdays and stuff. "

"He doesn't collect them himself but he doesn't mind them kind of those kinds of things. "

"He doesn't care too much, but he likes they make me happy". "

Having never counted her entire collection as she "just had them spread out in the flat", when Issie and Oscar moved into their new house in March 2025, she finally did the maths."

Counting a whopping 419, the final figure is currently 425 with some new additions to the collection.

Around 70 of those comprise of the bashful bunnies, which have a huge re-sell price online according to Issie.

She said: "It's always growing."

"I just love the faces on them all especially the amusables - like the smiley cheeses they bring me so much joy."

"I'm renovating my spare room so there is a huge display to come."

"I can't wait"."

Issie's most expensive purchase was the sherbet bashful bunny, which she bought after it was ‘retired' Ebay for £150.

Taking to sites like Vinted, Issie has been able to find the collectables at much cheaper prices.

She said: "When they first bring them out, they don't mean to make them limited edition, but when they stop making it, it goes retired on the website and [...] the value shoots up."

"I've had some good luck on Vinted, I refresh it when I have nothing to do."

"Recently the other day I found the Jellycat egg, and it's retired and sells for over £100, and I got it on Vinted for £12."

"I ask sellers to look at the labels."

"I'm quite good at identifying fakes"."

Issie's mum Jodie, 55, has over 20 Jellycats of her own after getting "on board" with the popular plushies."

Issie said: "She loves it and has even done London trips with me from the Isle of Wight for the launches."

"We left at 5am for the LibertyXJellycat launch back at the end of April and queued for three hours"."

Sharing her collectables online, Issie has found "99 per cent of the comments are positive"."

"It's been quite good obviously there are a few negative things, but I just shrug them off anyway, I've been doing this for a while now so it doesn't bother me."

"I've made so many friends from the Jellycat community"."
