Bungling driver reverses car through hotel lobby glass front
A bungling driver reversed her car through the glass front of a hotel lobby, narrowly missing guests standing outside.
The woman had just finished dinner with her husband at the Ramada Hotel and was preparing to leave when the crash happened in Uttar Pradesh on July 25.
CCTV footage shows the white SUV, reportedly being driver by the wife, suddenly accelerating in reverse, smashing through the entrance.
It hit another vehicle waiting to leave the pick-up area as startled guests and staff near the entrance scrambled to get out of the way.
Baradari Police Station Inspector Dhananjay Pandey said: ‘The hotel and the driver opted to settle and no legal action was taken.'
The officer added hotel manager Pradeep Kumar did not file a complaint.
No one was reported hurt and the driver promised to pay for the damages in the hotel.
