Data shows the average price for what’s considered an 'action camera' has dropped from about 280 U.S. dollars to about 140, which is spurring sales. For this video content creator, who acquired most of his equipment in the past six months, a camera must be versatile and drop proof. [Sound_bite] Wang Songaohan, video content creator: "The best part? It’s waterproof—so whether you drop it in water or accidentally slam it on the ground, this thing is built to last. One cool way I use it: I’ll hang it around my neck while walking, so my hands stay free for other tasks while capturing first-person footage." [Voice_over] One hot seller is this hand-held gimbal camera with a screen you can flip from vertical to horizontal with your thumb. One of the managers at a store where they're sold says the item is continuously sold out. [Sound_bite] Xin Lizhi, assistant store manager, DJI Flagship Store in Beijing: "The handheld gimbal camera is sold out. It takes about a month to get one if you pre-order. Recently, our store has been selling around 15 units per day on average." [Voice_over] According to German data analysis firm Statista, revenues from China’s digital cameras market are expected to reach more than 6.2 billion U.S. dollars this year.
