This is the hilarious moment a catamaran ride went wrong when a net plunged a couple into the sea.

Jerico Pacheco and his cousin, both wearing life vests, were riding on the side of the boat, enjoying the breeze at Boracay Island in Aklan, the Philippines.

Moments later, the vessel tilted slightly to one side, dipping into the water as it sped across the ocean surface, causing the girl to lose her balance.

Footage shows the teenager being swept off her seat and briefly submerged with her face underwater on July 28.

Upon seeing this, Jerico immediately grabbed her vest to prevent her from drifting away.

The frantic holidaymaker then called to the boat operator for help to balance the catamaran, prompting the worker to immediately adjust the jib.

The youngster soon positioned herself next to her cousin and laughed off the incident.

Jerico said: 'She was not hurt. Despite the incident, it was still fun, and it was a great experience.

'I would like to appreciate the crew for ensuring our safety at that time. They made sure we were okay after what happened.'
