Drone footage captured by commercial clam fisherman David Lancaster shows a 10 to 12-foot great white shark swimming near Scarborough, including areas around Pine Point Beach, Crescent Beach State Park, and Higgins Beach. The video was shared by Scarborough Police to alert the public.

Sightings were reported on Monday and Tuesday, indicating a rise in shark activity in Maine, possibly linked to a growing seal population. Officials confirmed initial reports of a large shark near Richmond Island and Scarborough Beach, with further observations near Pine Point Beach.

The video reveals the massive shark moving through coastal waters off the southern tip of Richmond Island, underscoring potential risks to swimmers and the need for vigilance in popular beach areas.

Authorities have kept beaches open but strongly advise caution in the water as shark activity continues along Maine’s coastline.
