A video recorded by X user TԹɧȝՐ captures a powerful fire engulfing the Red Hook neighborhood.

Thick black smoke rose high as the flames consumed the area.

The inferno destroyed a warehouse more than 150 years old. The building had served as home to a local artist co-op and several small businesses.

More than 250 firefighters were deployed to battle the five-alarm fire.

This tragedy unfolded during a period marked by severe weather events across the globe in late September 2025.

At the same time, flooding struck Ibiza and Mexico, brought on by heavy rain and the remnants of hurricanes. These events highlighted a pattern of escalating weather extremes.

The Brooklyn fire occurred as Ibiza suffered flooding from Hurricane Gabrielle’s remnants, which forced the closure of its airport and left health centres underwater.
