This is the dramatic moment a choking pet dog was rescued with the Heimlich manoeuvre by its owner.

Ms Long was watching a movie on her phone while having a snack when her white Pomeranian began struggling to breathe after swallowing a piece of sausage in Guizhou, China.

CCTV footage shows the helpless dog, seen wearing a diaper, opening its mouth wide, trying to cough up the meat, before suddenly collapsing and shaking uncontrollably.

The quick-thinking woman immediately stood up to save her pet.

She repeatedly thumped the dog's back and managed to dislodge the food from her dog's throat.

Ms Long said: 'I was terrified and instinctively resorted to a forceful rescue to save my dog. He is okay now.'
