VARIOUS OF WOUNDED PALESTINIANS LYING ON GROUND BEDS FOR TREATMENT IN TENT CREATED OUTSIDE NASSER HOSPITALKHAN YOUNIS, GAZA, PALESTINE - AUG. 19, 2025: The Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis has exceeded its capacity, with hundreds of wounded Palestinians receiving treatment in tents set up in its courtyard. The hospital, which has a capacity of only 340 patients, has been overwhelmed in recent days following an increase in casualties from attacks targeting aid centers. With no space left inside, around 1,000 wounded are being treated outdoors and in makeshift tents. Many lie on the ground due to lack of beds, while shortages of medicine and food are making survival increasingly difficult. Medical teams continue to provide care under severely limited conditions. Gaza’s Health Ministry said at least 271 people, including 112 children, died of starvation and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip. The UN agency for Palestinian refugees said Friday that famine in Gaza, deliberately created by the Israeli government, is confirmed, after also being formally confirmed by the UN-backed global hunger monitoring system IPC. Israel has killed more than 62,100 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave, which is facing famine. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
