Skin-crawling footage shows a group of friends pulling a leech from a man's eyeball.

The filmer said: "In August 2022, during the peak monsoon, I visited the rainforests of KCRE (Kalinga Centre for Rainforest Ecology) a perfect place to witness the season’s magic, with streams overflowing and the forest alive with life.

"One afternoon, while exploring a forest stream with Dr. Suraj (a surgeon) and Raghav , we were photographing the rare Niluvasi Dancing Frog. In the middle of framing his shot, Raghav suddenly felt something blocking his vision. At first, he assumed it was the viewfinder or a twig brushing past but it turned out to be a tiny leech that had made its way into his eye!

"We were deep inside the rainforest, far from camp, and the leech could have caused serious trouble if not dealt with immediately. Fortunately, having a surgeon among us proved invaluable. With calm precision, Dr. Suraj managed to remove the leech after 5–10 tense minutes using nothing more than a ₹10 note.

"It was a rare and unforgettable moment in the wild, when the rainforest reminded us how unpredictable nature can truly be."
