US: Hoist Rescue Extracts Injured Hiker At Franklin Mountain-Mammoth Cave

El Paso, United States - August 30, 2025 Air and Marine Operations’ El Paso Air Branch was notified by the El Paso COMSAR unit on August 30, 2025 after a U.S. citizen hiker fell from a cliff at Franklin Mountain-Mammoth Cave and required emergency air extraction. A hoist-capable UH60 aircrew responded to the area and worked alongside COMSAR to carry out the hoist rescue mission. On the ground, the COMSAR team assessed the injured hiker and asked that he be transported to a trauma hospital. The crews landed and transferred the patient to medical personnel for further intensive care due to the severity of his injuries.
