Angry monkey chases fisherman forcing him to jump into pond
This is the shocking moment an angry monkey chased a fisherman, forcing him to jump into a pond to escape.
A group of anglers were fishing when the visibly enraged primate attacked one of them in Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Dramatic CCTV footage shows the macaque that had escaped from its cage sprinting toward the pond on August 29.
Upon seeing the creature, the men dropped their fishing gear and ran from the bank, with the man in a blue shirt leaping into the water in fear.
Others can be heard screaming as they fled the area.
The monkey then stood on a stool, watching the young lad nearby, seemingly waiting for him to climb out.
Yuliana, the fish pond manager, said: 'It's both funny and pitiful. It turns out monkeys can also harbour a grudge.
'The long-tailed monkey is my pet. It escaped from its cage after managing to squeeze through the bars. The young man often plays pranks on the monkeys. Perhaps the monkey held a grudge, which is why he was the only one being chased.'
Yuliana recalled that the monkey waited for about 10 minutes before walking away and returning to its cage.
The angler was reportedly unharmed from the encounter.
Experts said that monkeys, like other animals, may attack when they feel threatened.
Risks from monkey bites include serious wound infections, herpes B virus, and rabies.
