The holiday island of Bali has suffered severe flooding today, leaving at least siz people dead.

Dramatic footage shows a bus, along with several other vehicles, stranded on a heavily flooded road in Denpasar.

Floodwaters also submerged homes, rising to shoulder height in some areas on Wednesday, September 10.

Earlier in the day, a three-storey home collapsed along the banks of the Badung River. At least three residents - a mother and her children - were reported missing following the incident.

In another part of the island, a woman was swept away by strong currents after falling from her motorcycle while attempting to cross a flooded road with her husband in Jembrana Regency.

In nearby Negara City, a hotel was inundated, forcing guests to evacuate to safer ground.

Reports said the intense downpour began on Tuesday morning, lashing the island and triggering floods in several villages across the region.
