Launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on Aug. 20, the satellite carried 75 mice, about 1,500 fruit flies, several plant seeds and various microorganisms to study the effects of space conditions on living systems.
The recovered organisms will be transported to research facilities in Moscow, where scientists will examine how microgravity and radiation influenced their health, behavior and development.
Officials said the mission will provide insights for future space biology research, with potential applications in medicine and preparations for long-duration human spaceflights.
