3. TURTLE GETTING TREATED MUGLA, TÜRKİYE - SEPT. 19, 2025: A turtle rescued by the National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE) from a forest fire on Friday, Sept. 19, in the Koycegiz district of southwestern Türkiye has been placed under medical treatment, officials said.

The blaze began in the Bozburun area of the Akkopru neighborhood and spread quickly due to strong winds. Mugla Regional Forestry Directorate teams and municipal firefighters were dispatched to the scene.

Ground crews worked through the night, and aerial firefighting aircraft joined the operation at first light. Authorities said 170 personnel, 28 fire trucks, nine water tankers, three bulldozers, three helicopters and five planes are currently engaged in efforts to contain the flames.

Additional support teams from neighboring provinces have also been mobilized, as strong winds continue to complicate containment efforts.
