Young Girl’s Presence of Mind Saves Her Life After Choking on Gum in Kannur

On September 16, 2025, in Pallikkara, Kannur, an eight-year-old girl began choking on chewing gum while seated on her bicycle. She bravely pedalled across the road towards a group of young men nearby who were buying vegetables. Noticing her distress, one man lifted her, placed her across his arm, and administered back thrusts to dislodge the gum, while another assisted. The girl soon began to breathe normally again. Locals are hailing both her awareness in seeking help and the youngsters’ quick action for averting a tragedy.
