Philippines: Typhoon Bualoi's landfalls affect multiple areas in Philippines
Typhoon Bualoi has made landfall in the Philippines five separate times, impacting multiple areas of the country. According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Friday, Bualoi made its fifth landfall in the town of Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro Province, at 11:30 local time. Currently, Bualoi maintains its intensity as a severe tropical storm, with its center located near Occidental Mindoro Province as of 13:00 local time on Friday and moving westward at approximately 35 kilometers per hour. In addition, the typhoon is affecting provinces including Romblon and Albay. Lying east of Manila, the Bicol region, especially Masbate Province, is suffering severe impact as Bualoi passes directly overhead, causing significant damage and leaving many passengers stranded at local ports. According to the country's Office of Civil Defense (OCD), over 430,000 people have been preemptively evacuated nationwide due to Bualoi. The typhoon has caused at least four fatalities so far. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council also reported on Friday that a total of 14 deaths resulted from the combined effects of the southwest monsoon and three successive tropical cyclones, including Ragasa and Bualoi, which struck the Philippines in recent weeks. The agency reported that a total of 303,537 families, or 1,212,712 people, were affected around the country. Bualoi is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Saturday afternoon.
