This is the dramatic moment a quick-thinking driver swerved to avoid boxes hurtling towards a car in Japan.
Dashcam footage shows a black vehicle narrowly avoiding flying debris before changing lanes on the Tohoku Expressway in Tochigi Prefecture.
The car recording the video also manoeuvred quickly to avoid the objects on September 23.
Authorities said the vehicles narrowly missed hitting two gas cylinders that had fallen onto the road.
The near-miss occurred around the 86 km postmark and led to a temporary closure of the expressway while the hazard was cleared.
